Do you know the true difference between the Church of Christ and the 'International Church of Christ'?
I do, because I was there in the making of the split.
It is a long story, but it started with the Church of Christ and its narrow doctrines that most people did not want to follow literally. Well, groovy, said some younger leaders, (like Kip McKean -who I think even left the International Church-, and Marty Fuqua, and Jeff Hill, etc.), we’ll just convert college aged students, expecially focusing on International students who may then go home to their own countries and start their own ministries.
It is something of a cult, but that is not to say it is probably more huge, and even more alive than the older church now is.
Whew, but what a ride that was.
Has anyone else noticed the recent changes in the Trinity United Church of Christ website ?
Recently; there has been some discussion over whether or not the Trinity United Church of Christ, which Obama has indicated that he is a member of, is actually a Black Seperatist or Black Supremacist Church ?? –Approximately two weeks ago; the website of the Trinity United Church of Christ had set forth their 10 " Commitments " exclusively to Black Culture, Black Community, Black Ministries, Black Families, Black Christian Experience, etc.—-Today, I observed that, for reasons unknown to me, the Trinity United Church of Christ website has been changed considerably whereby the 10 " Commitments " have been changed to 10 " Points of Vision " & many of the previous all Black references have now been deleted & now replaced with less denominational " Points of vision " re: " adoration ", etc. or " Christian Experience " as opposed to " Black Christian Experience "? – Did anyone else notice this change ? Do you think this was an attempt ( sincere or otherwise ) to change their image ?

Any baptists or other Christians agree with Roger Williams' statement concerning the church of Christ?
Roger Williams, pastor of the oldest Baptist Church in America, gave up his ministry with the statement that: “There is no regularly constituted church of Christ on earth, nor any person qualified to administer any church ordinances; nor can there be until new apostles are sent by the Great Head of the Church for whose coming I am seeking.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priesthood_of_all_believers
Bible Teaching|Church Of Christ
www.TogetherWeTrust.com There’s a secret to learning the Bible. It’s a secret any good Bible teacher, preacher, and pastor knows. The Bible is the most absorbing and interesting book on earth, and the most profitable to read and study. The Bible will teach you a lot about history and the nature of men and women. It is a spiritual book and every time you read it God will teach you something new through it. You will be inspired to live, laugh, love, forgive, prosper, and help others. These things alone will also help you improve. God’s word is for everyone. I know of no passage that makes this more clear than Deuteronomy 30:11-14: “For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.” Learning the Bible doesn’t mean understanding everything the first time you read it. When you come across a problem verse, it’s okay not to “get it” the first time. When you read the Bible, God will give you instructions on how to live your life more abundantly. God gives us many promises in the Bible, that he intends to keep. The knowledge of these will improve your life as you learn what God can, and will do for you. You can learn to turn to God and lay your burdens at His feet and He will tenderly care for you.The Bible is very exciting and will improve your life by reading it. The secret is that there is no secret to learning the Bible. Deuteronomy …
What is the difference between Church of Christ and Penecostal?
I think its Pentecostal where they speak in tongue. Anyway I am interested in a man who is that religion and its very important to him. I use to go to Church of Christ so that’s all I know. How do these two differ and could two people from both religions see it the same? Or would this become a problem down the line.
Why do churches like the Church of Christ teach baptism is necessary to be saved?
I have been raised to believe we are saved by faith and not works, We accept Jesus as savior, ask him to forgive us and try our best to live for him. I had a friend at work telling me the church she used to attend ( Church of Christ) taught you needed to be baptized. Reading scripture like John 3:16 I don’t see that. Is there something I am missing?
How come most protestant churches make up the Church of Christ?
As in, Paul said that He gave some to preach, some evangelists, some to do miracles, etc.
Well, the baptists preach, the evangelists evangelize, and the pentacosts are said to have miracles in their church. And as Paul said "there are difference in ministries, but the same Lord".
So how come protestant churches together make up the Church of Christ?
Padre Pio can’t heal any man, it is Christ.
