Christ favored the gospel of light. Does his light mean more light in you, or belief in blood for sin?
I have had many tell me that the light that Christ promoted means believing in sacrifice for sin. Does that make sense to you, or does more light simply mean more light IN YOU for more intelligence and a more fulfilling life?
More context is in my biography.
Since Jesus died for so much, would a firefighter who died for so little make a bigger sacrifice?
Jesus died so that everyone’s sins could be forgiven. He knew he would ressurect in a few days anyway.
If a firefighter sacrificed his life for two unconcious people in a building, and a few big tag appliances knowing that he would die and never come back to life, unknowing what his fate would be; would this mean he made a greater sacrifice than Jesus?
How were people who died before Jesus' sacrifice given the opportunity to accept the sacrifice?
I understand that when Jesus Christ was made a sacrifice it was for people of all ages in time. How exactly did those who already died before the sacrifice be given the opportunity to accept his sacrifice? Please provide bible verses if you are able to.
Thank you.
We not only live in Christ, but He lives in us. So what is the Church and how do we live in it?
First of all the Church in not an organization like a parish. Of course a parsh is nacessary, but it does not constitute the essence of the Church. If we remember what Christ did on earth, we see that although He healed and taught the people, He did not create a human organization. Rather He offered Himself as a sacrifice, suffering His Body on the Cross. It is true there was at first a small band of disciples, then later the twelve, then the seventy and finally several hundreds. Yet when Our Lord is crucified there are no disciples to be seen. It would seem that this small organization had collapsed!. Their master and leader is excuted and the small band of His followers hide for fear of the Jews. But was this the end of Christ’s ministry? Was this a setback? No. Christ came not to establish an organization but to give His Body to those people who would accept Him, who were willing to become part of Him and thereby receive salvation.
Why is the resurrection of Jesus Christ more important to Christians than his crucifixion & death?
Why is Jesus’ resurrection more important to Christians than his crucifixion? Surely the main thing is Jesus sacrificing his life to atone for our sins. If anything, the resurrection diminishes the extent of this sacrifice doesn’t it?
Jesus the Messiah – Via Dolorosa – Isaiah 53
This amazing passage from the Hebrew Prophets was written over 700 years before the birth of Jesus. It is found in Jewish Bibles today, though it is left out of the weekly synagogue readings, as are many other texts of the Bible. When people read Isaiah 53 without knowing which part of the Bible it comes from, they often wrongly assume is from the New Testament. Did Isaiah foresee the sufferings of Jesus to pay for our sins? Isaiah 52 The Exalted Servant 13 Behold, My servant will prosper, He will be high and lifted up and greatly exalted. 14 Just as many were astonished at you, My people, So His appearance was marred more than any man And His form more than the sons of men. 15 Thus He will sprinkle many nations, Kings will shut their mouths on account of Him; For what had not been told them they will see, And what they had not heard they will understand. Isaiah 53 The Suffering Servant 1 Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? 2 For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. 3 He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4 Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 …
Christ did a lot of preaching. Did he forget to preach that God requires a sacrifice for sins?
Sermon on the Mount.
Nothing on sacrifice for sins there.
He even came back to speak after the crucifixion. Nothing on sacrifice for sins there either.
Did Christ forget about the importance of sacrifice for sins?
Why did God in the OT require animal sacrifice for sin, similar to animal sacrifices made to other gods?
Why did a practice that was used for other gods, long before Judaism or Christianity, become acceptable for God? Also, why was this practice used as the basis for the core of Christianity, the sacrifice of Jesus in place of an animal?
If blood sacrifice was so important, why did Christ forget to preach about it?
He got through the most important sermon of his ministry (Sermon on the Mount) and did not even mention blood for sin… and when, on another occasion he spoke about sacrifice he said this: "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice." (more context on the Kingdom Gospel is in my biography)
So what’s the deal here? If sacrifice was so important, why did Christ fail to even preach about it?
And he said nothing about sacrifice after the Crucifixion either.
So what’s up here?
